​I have recommended and installed for homeowners, apt dwellers, etc. It is DYI and is not only a great IOT platform but is very affordable. Some people may not want\need live remote guards watching over their residence 24\7 such as with http://bit.ly/deepsentinel Abode can be had for $200 and then upgraded as needed eg. on paydays. They are great peeps to work and will help build a system based on your needs\budget. I know a few snowbirds who pay them for 3-6 months of monitoring a yr. when they take off to Florida and self-monitor afterward. Personally, don't recommend doing it just because people were not meant to be always connected like robots.
